From the President

Opening Day

Season begins on March 24 and ends June 30 (8-12) and for 13-14’s may begin March 24 or whenever players are released from their Jr. High teams and will end July 14th with NO Extensions. Thus we suggest that you do not schedule games after June 17 and July 4th respectively to allow for make-up games.  The year-end tournaments (if we have them for 8-11) will be July 2-4th (8-12) and July 16-18th (13-14).  Teams 15-18 adhere to the high school rules and may play as long as they wish as there is no tournament.

Consider signing up for the Midwest Ohio Baseball Tournaments: Our tournament costs for 2011 will be $300 (9-12u) and $325 (13-14u).  Sign up online at: www.usactionsports.com.

April 27- April 29th will be our DII and DIII event named the Minors Dash for Cash.

 

June 8-10th will be an open even named 'The Fight For Bragging Rights' with the winner invited to Midwest Ohio Award Night at the Dayton Dragons game July 9th.

 




Upcoming Coach Requirements

Don’t forget to input your roster, upload birth certificate and have the on-line contracts sent to your parents to complete. Get Medical Release forms completed and keep with you at all times when practicing and playing or meeting with team.  Do not send Medical Release forms or try to up-load. All of this needs to be done prior to March 21st.  Any team playing a league game without all paperwork including league player contract and insurance in place and uploaded to the system will not be authorized to play.  If team plays game it will be an automatic forfeit with potential additional sanctions.

Make sure that you have purchased insurance thru the league OR Make certain that your certificate has been uploaded to your team website.

You must use either the Umpire Scheduler’s paid thru the league, or Ohio High School licensed umpires.  Anyone else must be sent to the league for approval and they will then be put on the approved list…..so, if you have umpires who need to get approved send their names, emails and phone info so we can get them reviewed and approved.




Affiliation

We will affiliate all teams with CABA. CABA numbers were sent to all teams the week of March 5th.  We will affiliate any team interested with USSSA and Nations.  To register with USSSA email Gavin Helmig at: usssaohiobaseball@yahoo.com.  To register with Nations email Sean Dowers at: sean.dowers@nations-baseball.com. If you deleted the email and need the CABA number send an email with team name, age group and coach name and we will send it to you.

Season:  Play game, Winning coach inputs results including score and pitch counts; losing coach verifies results and pitch counts.  IF there is a rain-out or cancellation try to reschedule the game immediately.  If you cannot agree on a new date, follow the rainout/cancellation policy on the website




2012 Bat Restrictions

 Coaches and Parents:  This will be our final communication regarding bat restrictions.  We must follow the national affiliation's directions and will do so.
